Madrona Burl

Madrona burl comes from logs cut in the United States and Canada near the Pacific Ocean. The pink to reddish brown heartwood is smooth and fine grained. Variation in color and purple tint is common in many burls. This veneer is frequently dyed in Italy to a more consistent color. Dyed veneers, however, are very light sensitive and rapidly will evolve to unpredictable and splotchy colors.
