Oak Burl

European oak burl is a light brown veneer that can exist in a tight jewel box burl or widely spaced clusters. The veneer is brittle and porous and seams can be abnormally visible when stain is applied to the surface. Large burls with good sequence are not as common as smaller logs in the highest grade.
