Redwood Burl
Redwood burl comes from the redwood trees of western United States. Logs marketed in Europe are called vavona burl.
The veneer color can range from light reddish brown into dark purple-red tones with variation of color common in each flitch. Two-tone sequences are not uncommon. Quality logs will have large dimension leaves in good sequence.
The veneer is relatively soft and should be sanded carefully.
